What it is

Your store is yours: your domain, your prices, your customers. The Jade Bridge store is the platform's own store, and every store on the platform can publish its catalogue there as a second shop window. Jade Bridge sells your products to its customers in every market it serves, collects the payment and handles duties, taxes and the customer; you ship within one business day and are paid every week, in your currency. Nothing about your own store changes: it keeps its own prices, its own suppliers and its own customers, and the Jade Bridge channel sits beside it like any other sales channel.

The terms a brand is given are on the public site, at jadebridgeltd.com/partners, in every language the platform speaks. This chapter is about the machinery: where the switch is, what it does, and what you see afterwards.

Before you switch it on

Two things must be true. Your store must have chosen its base currency (Settings → Company): it is the currency every cost in your feed is stated in, and the currency Jade Bridge pays you in. And your catalogue must have products with stock and a cost or a price, depending on the basis you choose below — a product without either has nothing to publish.

If the store has no base currency yet, the page says so and the button stays off until one is chosen. Changing the base currency later is the guided change described in Settings and connections; a listing follows the base, so if you change it you pair again from this page.

The switch

Settings → Sell on Jade Bridge is one page. The top card says what the channel is and whether you are selling; once listed, a switch turns the channel on and off. The second card is what you are paid. The third, once listed, is where you are paid. The last is your statements.

Start selling on Jade Bridge lists the store: the platform pairs your store with the marketplace, your store gains a sales channel called Jade Bridge, and your catalogue begins publishing to it within minutes, product by product, the way it publishes to every channel. Nobody types a key: the pairing is the machine's, and Pair again replaces it if you ever need to, without changing anything else.

Switching off stops sales at once: the marketplace takes your offers down, and no new order reaches you. Orders already placed are completed and paid. Switching on again puts your offers back on the next publish.

What you are paid

Jade Bridge pays you per unit shipped. The page offers two ways to set that amount.

  • Your cost, plus a margin. Jade Bridge sets its own selling price and pays you the cost your suppliers charge you plus the margin you set here, as a whole-number percentage. Zero means Jade Bridge pays exactly your cost. This is the default, and the simplest: nothing to calculate, nothing to invoice.
  • Your retail price, less an agreed share. Jade Bridge sells at your retail price and pays you that price less a percentage agreed with the platform. The percentage is set by the platform, not on this page; until it is, the option says so and cannot be saved. Ask for it from the Ask a colleague panel on the page, or write to sales@jadebridgeltd.com.

The sentence under the two options says, in plain words, what you will receive for every unit shipped under the choice you made. Save writes it; the next publish carries it.

Your own store's prices are untouched by either choice. Under the retail basis, what is published is the base price your pricing rules produce; a change to a rule changes what Jade Bridge sells at on the next publish.

What publishes

Everything in your catalogue that passes the same gates as every channel: a brand, stock on at least one offer, and — under the cost basis — an offer with a cost in your base currency, or — under the retail basis — a base price. A product that fails a gate is skipped with the reason, visible in Channels under the Jade Bridge channel like any other channel's skips. Suejean's channel sweep publishes new and changed products every pass; stock and prices follow your catalogue as it changes.

Jade Bridge's merchandiser chooses which of your products appear and where on its store. Everything you publish is eligible; nothing is promised a place.

An order from Jade Bridge

When a customer buys one of your products on Jade Bridge, the order reaches your store as an order of its own, on the Jade Bridge channel, with an order number that begins JB-. It shows the delivery address and the lines, priced at what Jade Bridge pays you. The contact on the order is Jade Bridge's support address, not the shopper's: the shopper is Jade Bridge's customer, and Jade Bridge writes to them.

Your store routes the order like any other: to the supplier whose offer won, or to your own stock, with Kat watching the supplier's side as she does for every order. When the line ships, the tracking goes back to Jade Bridge on its own, and Jade Bridge tells the customer. Nothing to do by hand, and nothing to tell anyone. If Jade Bridge cancels before shipment, your store cancels its supplier order and the order closes; a line that already shipped cannot be cancelled and comes back as a return instead.

Returns go back to you. A customer may send an item back within 7 days of receiving it; it goes to your address, and the credit lands on your next statement.

Statements and payment

Every week Jade Bridge draws up a statement of everything you shipped, in your currency, and pays it. The statements card on the page lists the last six months as Jade Bridge keeps them: the week, the items, what is owed, whether it has been sent. The figures are Jade Bridge's; your own Finance pages show the orders as sales of the Jade Bridge channel and your suppliers' costs as they always do.

Where to pay you takes the bank account Jade Bridge pays into: the account name, its currency, the bank's country, and an account number or an IBAN, with a SWIFT code if the bank uses one. It is sent straight to the marketplace's payout provider and kept nowhere in your store; sending again replaces what the marketplace holds. Tom, your finance employee, sees the statements as income from the Jade Bridge channel and reconciles the payments when they arrive.

Who works here

Suejean, channel operations, runs the Jade Bridge channel as she runs every channel: what publishes, what is skipped and why. Kat, supply chain, follows each Jade Bridge order to the supplier and back. Tom keeps the books on the payments. On this page the Ask a colleague panel offers Suejean first.
